I took creatine before in the past for about 2 months in a one year period for the last 3 years. I think it help but I'm not really sure. I didn't ever feel like it made me stronger or workout any harder. In fact I think that it may have hurt my workouts to some degree.
I loaded properly and took the recommended dose per day but I would get a extreme build up of lactic acid and lower back pain. I was taking in tons of water so I know that was fine and I did everything like normal. Eventually I would have to stop workouts that I would normally be able to do easily early because of the lactic acid build up and back pain.
I am only 150 lbs and I think that it has something to do with daily amount that I should have for my weight. All of the instructions on the creatine say to take 5 grams per day but I always wondered if that was for an person of my size or average size of 200 lbs or something.
Of course the companys will want you to take more to sell more. Now I am taking creatine and I'm only taking two to two and a half grams of creatine per day and all my workouts have been really intense and my body has felt fine.
I read somewhere before where someone took creatine and it hurt their workouts to and I wondered if I was the only one.
Has anyone had this happen to them before?
